Welcome to the Body Shirt Department.

 In 1775, Virginia issued her troops 7 oz. per yard osnaburg fabric for Body Shirts. JWPS. These were made on a simple pattern, with a collar, hemmed sleeves and tail but without buttons, and colored various shades of brown. 

 Virginia also issued her troops Check Shirts, made by contractors. JWPS. We suspect that they issued one of each per man. Our check shirts are made on the same pattern of 4 oz fabric. We have a limited selection of these in each size, so we cannot accommodate color preferences. Back then, enlisted men did not get to choose their Check Shirts, so this is authentic!
